The costs incurred by Shepshed Swimming Club are stretching us to the limit when we take in to account pool hire, lifeguards, coaching staff, ASA membership and other insurances and although the committee are actively looking at ways to increase our income that would not deter swimmers, we have had no choice in deciding to increase the fees.
Most other swimming clubs arrange for their swimmers to pay by standing order or direct debit so that the club is guaranteed a monthly income. We have tried to stay away from this sort of arrangement believing that most people prefer to pay for training on a session by session basis. However, the down side to this is we have no idea how much money we will accrue as it is dependant on how many swimmers attend each training session.
We as a club do intend to carry out more fundraising activities this year in the hope of finding ourselves in a better financial position and we trust that ALL members will help/participate as much as possible, therefore raising money for the club and also having fun. You will see the new prices below which we hope are sufficient to keep the club on an even footing, this situation will be reviewed later in the year.
Under 1hour was £2 this will increase to £2.50
1hour and above was £2.50 this will increase to £2.75
These new prices will begin on Monday 7th June 2010
Should anybody have any fund raising ideas we would love to hear from you and if you would like to organise an event that would be greatly appreciated.
