Winter League Final 2011 (Team Managers Report)

  • A well-attended final by swimmers and supporters and a great atmosphere in anticipation of some big performances.
  • The swimmers did not disappoint with some outstanding swims in a challenging final against bigger clubs. Everybody gave 100% effort and a well-deserved third place was the result.
  • The young girls were really brilliant with a good attitude and commitment to their races which flowed on through the rest of the team. Rachel and Kyra lead the girls in the under 13’s with some great swims. Again the young boys team is strong with Charlie on fine form and Kieran putting in an excellent individual swim, this was supported by the rest of the boys and girls who all performed very well as usual.
  • The 15 year old girls have a strong team and work very well together, and with the boys needed some support from younger swimmers for the relays. On a sad note for the open girls it was Catherine’s and Jessica’s last swims before heading for uni but they went out with bang and had a great influence on the rest of the girls. (good luck)
  • Luke and Ian put in some great swims to lead the boys open team and notch up some well-deserved points.
  • All the swimmers deserve a very well done and it was also evident from the swimming that we are making some good improvements in technique and stamina and if we keep improving this way we will be in a stronger position going into the autumn league later on in the year.
  • The time trials in a weeks’ time will give us all a good indication of where we are and track our improvement, so it would be great if all the swimmers could take part. (see the notice board)
  • Good luck to the diddy team on Saturday
  • Keep up the good work.
  • Steve
