Gala Report:
- This was a friendly gala at Wigston. First of all well done to everyone who swam and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Shepshed overall swam well and finished the Gala in 2nd place. We managed to achieve 8 1st places from 7 different swimmers which is excellent and shows that all the hard training does pay off. On a more negative note we got 9 DQ’s which is the largest amount we have had in along time, so this is something we need to work on, as we can’t afford to drop that many points in the final next week. I would like to thank the following swimmers: Alex Callender, Shaun Crook-Rumsey, Emma Nelson, Jack Bearpark and Kieran Martin who all stood in at the last minuite to cover races that they wouldn’t have normally swam, to cover missing swimmers. The Star swimmer award for this gala has now been selected, please go to the Awards pages to find out more.I would like to remind swimmers that if you don’t have short hair please bring a Shepshed swimming club hat with you to swim in as this will improve your gala times and we only have a few you can borrow so please don’t rely on being able to borrow one. Finally I would like to thank Mrs Nelson & Mrs Stevenson for their role as stewards and also my fellow captain and vice captain for helping me out through out the gala.
