The Bryan Moore and Andy Munn Memorial gala 2nd and 3rd out of 4 teams
16th may 2009 Loughborough won again………..
This was by far my favourite gala of the year so far,producing some fabulous swims and the best team spirit I have ever seen.
We had 51 swimmers producing two great teams Black team captain was Vicky Moore and Yellow team Captain was Chris Moore a bit
of family competition which seemed to carry on throughout the night in other families as well. Jessica and Catherine were against each other and so were Alexandra and Katie west and Vicky and Chris in the mixed relays
Lots of swimmers at this gala swam in races they don’t normally swim in. This was because I tried to show you that you can do it if you try and it was a good chance to get extra race practice for the annual gala.
The dreaded Dq’s 7 some of which were from our less experienced gala swimmers but some of you should know better. Hopefully you all have been told why you got a dq if not I or another coach will explain the reasons if you would like us to. Please make sure you don’t make silly mistakes in the annual gala. We shall being going through more dive practice, turns, and gala training nearer the time. Try and attend as many training sessions as you can. The more effort you put in the greater the rewards and rewards mean massive Pbs.

Points from this gala to remember and improve upon for the final
1) we need to sprint into and out of turns
2) Stand still on the blocks
3) sprint into the wall on finishes and touch on or above the water line. If you are doing back stroke make sure you touch the wall on your back.
- 4) Give every race 110% effort and be determined to get a PB.
