Winter League Gala Round 1 at Hinkley 07-01-12
- Happy new year everyone and let’s make this one even better than 2011, and the first signs are looking good.
- Most of us having not trained since early December, I wasn’t expecting anything special. Well how wrong can you be, a great third place finish behind Burton and Hinkley and well deserved.
- The team notched up 14 pb’s, obviously some of you had sneaked a few sessions over the festive period, well done.
- We gained 11 1st position and the same 2nd places and this all started off with the boys 15/u freestyle relay closely followed by the boys open relay team who were very strong throughout the gala and well done to Danniella Freestone, Harry Dalzell, Lucas Taylor, Alex Callender and Luke Baird who all gained 1st places.
- There were a few really close finishes which could have turned 2nd place into first place, but with a little work on starts and finishes this will come as I think we were a little bit rusty after Christmas.
- All in all a great performance, so keep up the good work.
