Autumn League Gala Final at Melton 10-12-11
- Absolutely brilliant, well done to everyone, this was a great gala with great performances and a wonderful atmosphere.
- I would like to start by thanking those swimmers who stepped up an age group to help out to fill some gaps in the team, Harry Dalzell, Lucas Taylor, Luke Baird, Eve Cook, Kyra Blagden and Daniella Freestone. Well done.
- We started the gala off sitting in 7th place in the league and if we could hold onto this position we would be promoted into division 1, this was our target.
- It wasn’t long before the boys 14&U team got our first win in the Freestyle Relay, this was closely followed by the boys open team and with a good start we followed up with 14 first places and 10 second places, half of the events in the top two positions. At one stage we were in joint first position with Wellingborough in lane 1 who ran out over all winners with us close behind in second place.
- It was really difficult to single out any individual performances as everyone gave more than 100% effort but well done to the boys open team who managed a clean sweep of wins in their age, Kyra Blagden, Blake Russell, Daniel Thompson, Oliver Adkin, Daniella Freestone , Harry Dalzell and the boys 14& medley team who as well all achieved first places.
- I have to say that one swimmer stood up and performed out of his skin and this was noted by all the coaches and helpers, well Done to Harry Dalzell who’s freestyle in the boys 14&U medley relay was outstanding and built on the good start the rest of the team put in.
- It has been a great year and I have had a great time working with everyone in the club. The attitude from everyone has been fantastic and I am positive this will lead onto better things. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement and to the coaching team for producing some fine swimmers.
