Aylestone Friendly Gala - 26/02/2011
- Congratulations to all the swimmers, supporters, stewards and officials, what a great evening and a deserved WIN.
- A fantastic atmosphere was created with everyone shouting and cheering our swimmers on and the result of this was nearly ¾ quarters of the races were either first or second place, but mainly firsts. We had a run of five races on the trot which we were placed first and that really set the scene for the evening.
- All the swimmers were brilliant giving their best efforts and there were some outstanding swims particularly the 10 and 12 year boys who were especially strong.
- This friendly gala also gave me a chance to give swimmers a chance to swim in events they are not normally picked for. This gives an indication on how they are improving and also where improvements can be made. There were a few technical details where improvements can be made and we will be working on these as usual in the coming weeks, to prepare for the league final later in the month.
- This was my first gala as Team Manager and I was very impressed by everyone’s attitude, commitment and their pride in representing Shepshed Swimming Club. This is a great platform for us to build upon going into the final and gives us a great opportunity to improve our league position.
- Again I would like to thank everyone for their support and in particular all the swimmers, they were great.
