Round Three of the Winter League:
- The final round of the league was a good gala for all of our swimmers plus a great result for the team over all. Although the star swimmer award is going to go to Alice Cowley! As she was the only swimmer who achieved 2 first places out of 5 overall that night. It also goes with you saying that alice is keen to help the younger swimmers pool side from putting on hats to cheering for everyone. Well done to our final star swimmer this year!
Young Teams Relay Gala:

This gala saw all the swimmers in the team having to swim alot of events and they all did very well. All nominated for different reasons and all had great galas. These swimmers were: Emma Nelson, Kyra Blagden, Alex Callender, Mathew Young and Catherine McGeown. A big well done to all theses swimmers! Although this time the award goes to a swimmer that gives up alot of her time at galas if she is swimming or not. Round one Leicester winter League:
-
The first round of the winter league was a hard gala with shepshed having to work hard to achive an overall first place. This time the award goes to a swimmer who swam in a range of races although it was his positive attitude poolside and remarked improvement in behavour. As well as his helpfulness to stewards and encouragement to other swimmers that makes Jack Insley this galas star swimmer! well done jack!
Round three Leicester Diddy League 2009:
-
The last round of the diddy league was a good gala, with many swimmers having to do alot of different events. Although i have decided to give the award to Megan Sands. Megan swam well in both her events and through out the whole gala had a good attitude & took the whole gala in her stride even as one of the youngest team members. Other swimmers that were nominated were: Natalie king, Nick Rose & Eleanor hopewell. A well done to these swimmers and keep working hard at galas and you could be receiving the award in the future.
SSC Annual Gala Weekend Two:
-
The second week of the gala included as many if not more brilliant swims right across the board. Again i have had a few nominations for the award, these were: Charlie Stackhouse, Alex Callender & Georgia King. All these swimmers swam well and swam with a good attitude to the gala as well as there fellow competitors. Although this time the award goes to Natasha Mcloughlin who had some brilliant swims breaking two annual gala records. Well done Natasha!
SSC Annual Gala Weekend one:
-
After a great gala with many brilliant swims and close races, there is a long list of swimmers with nominations. These included; Amy Godwin, Megan Sands, Charlie Stackhouse and Beth Edwards. All theses swimmers were put forward for a range of reasons such as great swims, good gala attitude towards there events and fellow competitors. Although the star swimmer this week is Ben Freestone who did all the things stated above as well a having to complete an IM swim on his own over a distance he had not swam before. Well Done Ben!
SSC Memorial Gala:

For the star swimmer award at this gala there were a few nominations these were: Sophie Draycott, Matthew Young & Megan Sands. All of these swimmers swam very well in their events and were helpful and behaved well through out the gala. Although this time the award goes to George Stackhouse for some fantastic swims over a distance which he wasnt used to. George swam well in all his events and behaved well pool side even as a fairly inexperienced gala swimmer. Well done!
Round two Leicester Diddy League 2009:

The gala star swimmer is Anna Cook for round two of the diddy league. Anna had to step into the team at the last minute to fill the place of a sick swimmer. Anna swam well in all the events she took part in and encourage other swimmers through out the gala. Well Done!
Round one Leicester Diddy League 2009:
-
The gala star swimer is Alex Callender! It was a unanimous vote (mrs king, mrs Stevenson,Jessica Mcgeown, Rachel Mcgeown, timekeepers and myself). Alex had 7 swims all of which were swam as ever to the best of his ability producing two 1st places and 1pb. Alex cheered on all his team mates and listened to all the advice that was given to him poolside. Well done Alex!
Round three Leicester League 2009:
-
There were a few nominations for the Star Swimmer award, these were; Demi Exon for being helpful poolside and cheering well. Another swimmer that always cheers well is Alex Callender with some fast swims. Also nominated was Steve Russell for encouraging the younger swimmers and being enthusiastic through out. Finally Natasha Mcloughlin who has a great attitude at galas and swam well, (even without her goggles for one event) But this time it has been decided that the award will go to Ian Burdett for a brilliant individual swim, (PB) even though oxygen was nearly called for. J He also swam well in both of his relay events and is always poolside to encourage the younger swimmers and help out.
Round two Leicester League 2009:
-
I have had a few nominations for Star Swimmer again, Vicky Moore did a really good job helping Rachel out at the deep end, and Catherine McGeown and Alex Callender (again) had some great swims and loud voices! But in the end, it was someone who really showed amore grown up behaviour that I have decided to give the award up. He was always where he needed to be, and was a help to the stewards, as well as being very focused (and fast!) for his races! Well done Billy Wells, you are this galas Star Swimmer!
Round One Leicester league 2009:
-
There were a few nominations for the Star Swimmer award although this time the award is going to go to three swimmers who all swam really well! These swimmers all had multiple events, often having to swim up in ages groups above their own. So a big well done to Emma Nelson, Natalie King, Beth Tomlinson!
