New Head Coach

  • Dear All

I am very pleased to announce that following the departure of Josh, we have been able to appoint a new Head Coach. For those of you who have been associated with the club for many years will know her well and I am sure the newer members of the club will soon get to know her.  So on behalf of the Club, I would like to welcome Fiona Dyer as our new Head Coach.

Fiona has put together a few words about herself, which I am delighted to pass on.

  •   I have been a member of Shepshed Swimming Club since 1996 and during my time here I have been the girls captain and have volunteered to help with coaching the younger swimmers. My enjoyment of this made me decide to take my level 1 and my level 2 swimming teachers course. I have just completed my three year degree at Sheffield Hallam University where I gained a 2:1 in Sport Science with Coaching. When I returned from university I asked if I could volunteer within the club again and took over from my mum and sister.
  • This club has always been extremely close to my heart and I was honoured to be asked to become the head coach. I hope to do the club proud and aim to continue the hard work that the swimmers already do, at the same time making their training fun and friendly; as from personal experience I understand that this is an important factor in keeping everyone motivated. With the support of the rest of the coaching staff, committee, parents and swimmers we can make this club one to be proud of.
  • If anyone has any questions I am happy to speak to anybody at any time.
  • Hope to see you all at training,  Fiona
