Competitive Start Award

  • The competitive start award (diving award) is and ASA scheme, and is awarded to swimmers once they are competent at competitive diving. We are now running this scheme and all club swimmers will work towards completing award if they haven’t already achieved it.
  • Sessions to work towards this award will be held on fridays at 6.00pm - 6.45pm once every six weeks. These sessions will be for swimmers in RED, BLUE & GREEN squads (who normally swim at 6.00pm to 6.45pm) as well as other swimmers by invitation only. The dates of the these sessions will be set through out the year and will be advertised on the notice board. It is important for swimmers to try to attend these sessions.
  • The sessions will involve working on diving at the deep end of the pool from the starting blocks, also transition from diving into the swimming strokes. Swimmers will also be ask to dive from the side at the shallow end. Swimmers work through the critera step by step as there diving improves.
  •  For more information about these session or your progress with the award, please speak to Kieran or Ian. On completion of the award swimmers will be presented with a certificate.
